Fort Belvoir Elementary School I & II

This 2 story elementary school is located on the U.S. Military Base at Fort Belvoir, owned and operated by Fairfax County Public Schools. The steel structured masonry façade building was constructed on a greenfield site on the base and consists of a 56,579sf first floor and a 38,329sf second floor. The project required full site development, starting with clearing and grading and included playground and playing fields typically associated with an elementary school. The school building, in addition to housing typical classroom space, has multiple music and art rooms, a STEM-oriented Science Lab, multi-purpose classrooms, a cafeteria with associated servery and a gymnasium. The project was designed and constructed to LEED Silver standards.
